The question is referring to a device that performs a Modulation function ( converting analog signals to digital signals) -----> so the device is a modem. The Given answer is correct.

But here hybrid computer uses the modem. Computer not separatly uses the demodulation. Hybrid computer uses modem for converting digital signals into analog signal.

The correct answer is modulator, because that's is the point in which conversion take place. A Modem is simply a device that modulate and demodulate signals.

You can use the modem for both modulation and demodulation, you can't use demodulator as a device. The modem is a device demodulator is a function.

Modem is derived fro the word modulator and de-modulator, so why is (a) not correct too if (c) is correct?

Demodulator is the exact term for digital to analog conversion.

MODEM is a device not a defination term.

I think demodulation is correct because it is accurate function of demodulation.
