@All.

As per my knowledge, there is no PRV to reduce any Hammar Pressure, it just reduces the overall pressure in the pipe to follow.

It is just Air Valve that is used instead to reduce hammer pressure.

In Water Hammar software, where ever any surge comes, only Air Valves, Hydropneumatic tanks, or Surge tanks are used to overcome it.

So the right answer is B.

I think d should be the correct answer.

Answer should be B.

'the air relief valves ares used to admit air to the pipe line in order to prevent the formation of vacuum in case of rapid flow negative pressure. This vacuum or negative pressure (known as water hammer) may hurt the pipe line at some lower point.

Sluice-control flow.
Air-at summit point.
Pressure-sudden accidentally high pressure.
