D =1.09B,
For egg shaped sewer, D'= 0.84 D.

@Gugu.

Use Mannings formula for velocity and multiply with Area to find discharge. Hydraulic equivalent means having the same discharge. So equate discharge from both square and a circular section. You will get your answer.

The ratio of the dia of a circular section and the side of a square section hydraulically equivalent is 1.095.

@Dhanu.

How 1.094?

Thanks @Dhanu.

D=1.1B.

It is the relation between circular and square sewer.

d=1.094b.
b=side of square.
d=dia of crcular section.
D=1.094 * 1000 = 1094.

Relation between square and circular sewer :-
π * D^(8/3) = 4 * b^(8/3)
D^(8/3) = 4 * b^(8/3)
D^(8/3) = 4 * 1000^(8/3)/ 3.14
D^(8/3) = 127323954.47
Or D = 127323954.47^(3/8)
So D = 1094.82 say 1095.

@Lakshmi then 1000^2= πD^2/4.
Then D=1128.
