Relation between circular and square sewers is (pi*D^(8/3))=(4*B^(8/3)),
where D- diameter of circular sewer and B- side of a square sewer.

Two section of different shapes is said to be hydraulically equivalent if they carry same discharge while running full on the same grade and are of the same material.

By using manning's formula:

Discharge of square pipe = Discharge of circular pipe.

Level of sewage flow required. If 3/4 full flowing. Then calc Hyd radius of channel and equate HYD with circular section HYD.

de = 1.30 x((a x b)^0.625/(a + b)^0.25).

where a and b are sides of rectangle. Here a = b since we are dealing with square.
