A simply supported beam carrying a uniformly distributed load over its whole span, is propped at the centre of the span so that the beam is held to the level of the end supports. The reaction of the prop will be
half the distributed load
3/8th the distributed load
5/8th the distributed load
distributed load.

Ans is 3wl/8.
As at simply supported beam deflection is zero.
Deflection due to distributed load w is wl^4/8EI,
Deflection due to support reaction is pl^3/3EI,
Both are equal so p=3wl/8.

No @Mukesh Kumar.

You are using deflection formula of a cantilever beam with UDL but here it is SSB.

Deflection from distributed load = 5wl^4/384EI.
Deflection from PROP load = PL^3/48EI.
5wl^4/384EI = PL^3/48EI.
P = 5wl/8.
