By is 800:2007 clause 10.2.4.3 e max is 40mm + 4t.

If dua of the rivet is given then it must be 1.5d but it is given a thickness of the plate and the answer is correct.

= 1.7d (for hand cut).
For maximum edge distance = 37mm +4t.
= 1.7d (for hand cut).
