Options A is correct because face to face provide large value of radius gyration.

Channel is used as column flange then option B is correct.

Channel should be placed back to back when less radius of gyration is required.
And should be placed face to face when the large radius of gyration is desirable.
And should be placed face to face when the large radius of gyration is desirable.

According to me, Option A is correct.

Right @Ritu.

The option B is correct;
(1) For outward (back to back) Iyy>Ixx
(2) For inward (face to face) Iyy<Ixx
Ixx is same for both the cases but Iyy from the case-(2) will be least.
So, the minimum moment of inertia will be from the case-(2) and so the minimum radius of gyration.
