We know that vol Of voids = vol Of air + vol Of water.
Dividing both sides with vol Of voids then we get air content + degree of Saturation = 1.
Dividing both sides with vol Of voids then we get air content + degree of Saturation = 1.

The percentage of air voids should be on LHS which is equal to porosity*air content, air content is equal to 1-S, porosity = e/1+e.

Actually,
ac + sr = 1.
Hence, ac = 1 - sr.
But here, if we resolve the eq in the ans, we will get;
ac = n(1-sr).
Is this valid?
ac + sr = 1.
Hence, ac = 1 - sr.
But here, if we resolve the eq in the ans, we will get;
ac = n(1-sr).
Is this valid?

Actually here is not air content, here is air voids.
ac+Sr=1, ac=1-Sr.
Na=ac*n, n=e/1+e.
Na=e(1-Sr)/(1+e).
ac+Sr=1, ac=1-Sr.
Na=ac*n, n=e/1+e.
Na=e(1-Sr)/(1+e).

Actually, it is not air content it is percentage air void.
na= n*ac.
& ac= 1-Sr.
na= n*ac.
& ac= 1-Sr.

It is not air content on the LHS, it is a percentage of air voids.

Actually, there in place of ac it should be na.

Air content = 1-Sr this should be % air voids.
