If that type of water used in concrete it leads corrosion because cement can hold all the concrete ingredient if the pH Value around 11.

Water which is fit for drinking is also fit for concrete. pH value should not be less than 6. It should be preferably around 7 i.e. neutral.

As the concrete is alkaline so limit of alkalinity is not mentioned in IS. But, it is better if it is in the range of 6.5 to 8.5.

Open IS 456 : 2000 code page:15 and find 5.4.3. It states that the pH value should not be less than 6.
