Generally 9 times of diameter used for hook.

For Mild steel twice the diameter.

For Cold worked steel four times the diameter.

Three times as per, Kurmi Gupta.

But above question not specified mild steel or cold worked steel. Then how to identify this? Please explain it.

It should be four times the diameter.

The radius of hook= n$ .
Where $=Dia of bar.
n=2 for plain mild steel bar.
n=4 for HYSD bar.
So radius of hook= 2$. So option is correct.

Twice is very less, please clarify.

Internal radius of the bend is thrice the diameter and the length of straight bar beyond the end of curve should be least four time the diameter of the bar.

Ref. R. S. KHURMI (PAGE - 527).
