Actually, option D is correct.
Actually, the ballast placed in between the sleepers is called Ballast Crib. However, the actual PROCESS of filling the ballast in between the sleepers is called Boxing.
In other words, the process of providing a Ballast Crib is known as Boxing. Hence option D will be correct.

The loose ballast between the two adjacent sleepers is known as BALLAST CRIB. So options D is not correct.

Boxing is the loose ballast provided around sleeper while packing is compacted ballast cushion as per gradation below sleeper, boxing provide lateral stability to sleeper.
