To Reduce Percolation from Canals and Water Courses:
By controlling or reducing the amount of water that percolates from canals and water courses into the surrounding soil, you can prevent the groundwater table from rising and causing waterlogging.
To Increase Outflow from the Ground Water Reservoir:
Enhancing the drainage and outflow from the groundwater reservoir helps in lowering the groundwater table, which can also mitigate waterlogging.

And Absorption is GWT below ground level.
