Cohesion isvthe property of a material to attract its molecules whereas.

Adhesion is the property to attract other molecules and threfre water does not attract other molecules. So answer is D.

Molecules of fluid get attracted due to cohesion.

Example: When you drop a Mercury in to the horizontal surface, it gets gathered due to cohesion. And if you drop a water in surface, it gets wets and flow in all direction, it is due to adhesion.

Mercury is a non-wetting fluid and water is a wetting fluid. So right answer is the option 'C'.

Cohesion : The force of attraction between the molecules of a liquid by virtue of which they are bound to each other to remain as one assemblage of particles is known as the force of cohesion.

Answer should be cohesion.

Because molecules of liquids are attracted by cohesion & molecules of liquids are attracted to the molecules of solid due to adhesion.
