Clover leaf is used when two high volume and high speed facilities intersect each other. It requires only one structure and is very popular where as Diamond interchange involves a major-minor crossing and is designed for a narrow right of way of major road.

What is the clover leaf?

Cover leaf is a two-level interchange in which left turns (reverse directions in left-driving regions), are handled by ramp roads. The objective of a cloverleaf is to allow two highways to cross without the need for any traffic to be stopped by red lights, even for left and right turns.

Grade separator means changing in the gradient i.e. rise or fall of road surface.

@ Shilpa.

Grade separation is the name given to a method of aligning a junction of two or more surface transport axes at different heights (grades) so that they will not disrupt the traffic flow on other transit routes when they cross each other.
