Compare deflection due to point load and deflection due to moment which is used for zero vertical deflection.
Yp=Ym.
WL^3/3EI =ML^2/2EI we get M=12KN-m.
And due to point load at the free end anti-clockwise rotation occurred in the beam so to balance that we use clockwise moment.
So, the answer is 12kN-m clockwise.

Deflection due to clockwise moment M,D1=ML^2/2EI=M*2^2/2EI.
Deflection due to point load 9kN,D2=PL^3/3EI = 9*2^3/3EI.
Since deflection has to be 0 hence D1-D2=0, M will come 12kNm clockwise.

Answer is 12knm clockwise because due to 9kn force the moment will be anticlockwise so to resist that moment we have to apply the moment in the anticlockwise direction.

WL^3/3EI - ML^2/2EI = 0.
For the above stated condition;
M comes out to be 12knm.
And it must be applied anti-clockwise as per sign convention.

I think it is 9KN*2M = 18 KN-M, as moment is defined as force X displacement.
