In pert the activity is scheduled in such a way that the three time frame are taken into consideration. And they are optimistic time, pessimistic time and most likely time and related as (t0+4tm+tp)/6. To provide the most effective time for completion of the activity.

PERT means program evaluation revised time. Best eg is any scientific project like ISRO. Which required some time for this project but approximately.
