Actually, the question is wrong as coarse aggregates contain 20mm and 40mm aggregates also not only 10mm. And max sieve size to determine the size of fine aggregates is 4, 75.

The aggregate of size more than 75 mm are called Cyclopean aggregate. Since the Max size of coarse aggregate is 75 mm.

4.75, 2.36, 1.18, 600 micron, 300 micron, 150 micron ---->> Fine Aggregates.

Below 4.75 mm only fine aggregate as IS.
