Gap grading means certain fraction of sizes are not present in the aggregate sizes and hence because of that a horizontal line is used to represent the absent fractions (sizes) in a grading curve.

It is used for completing the gradation curve and to show the missing sieves hotline is marked.

Please explain. Different types of curves represent different types of soil like uniformly graded, well-graded, poorly graded, gap graded. Please if anyone knows about this. So explain it.

No, Step grading curve line look like a horizontal line.
