According to IS 456:2000 NOMINAL MIN IS FROM M5 TO M25.

BUT ACCORDING TO IS 456: 2013 NOMINAL MIX IS FROM M5 TO M20.

Mix m25 and above are now regarded as design mix.

There are 7 grades According to I.S. : 456, of concrete mixes, mentioned below.
M5 - 1:5:10
M7.5 - 1:4:8
M10 - 1:3:6
M15 - 1:2:4
M20 - 1:1.5:3
M25 - 1:1:2
M30,M35,M40 - Design Mix Followed.

As per IS 456 : 2000 grade of concrete is:

Ordinary concrete - M10, M15, M20.
Standard concrete - M25, M30, M35 M40 M45 M50 M55.
High strength concrete - M60 M65 M70 M75 M80.

According to old code(IS 456-1978) there are 7 grades of concrete(M10 to M40).

According to new code(IS 456-2000) there are 9 grades (M10 to M50).
