Pick up the correct statement from the following i.
Higher workability indicates unexpected increase in the moisture content
Higher workability indicates deficiency of sand
If the concrete mix is dry, the slump is zero
Concrete mix having zero slump, is unsuitable for high strength.

No, Option C may be wrong.

In My point of view, if the concrete is dry (i.e., low), the slump value ranges from 25 to 75. It may not be necessarily zero.

Finer partical has more surface area which cause required more cement paste for lubrication and decreased the workability. So deficiency of fine sand increased the workability of mix.

Illustration of Option B: Higher the quantity of sand, higher the surface area, higher be the paste requirement. Hence at constant cement W/C ratio, cement will be deficient to paint whole surface to gain that amount of workability.

Well said @Gouthu.

@Anshu.

The workability increases with increase in using coarse agg (surface area is less thus increases flow) thus amount of sand decreases.

Explain the option B.

Please explain B clearly.

Workability increases as water content increases.

If mix is dry slump is zero.

Dry mix having zero slump cannot give high sternght.
