Option D will be right if there was tricalcium silicate.

In rapid hardening, cement has high percentage of tricalcium silicate and a low percentage of dicalcium silicate.

Rapid hardening cement has greater strength in early stage as compared to opc. This is due to the extra amount of lime. So C is correct.

I think the right Answer should be A.

Finer grinding and tricalcium aluminate C3A causes rapid hardening.

While early strength is given to the cement by tricalcium silicate C3S.

Can anyone explain, why we have a higher level of strength requirements for PCC compared to OPC at an early age (3 days and 7 days)?

Rapid Hardening Cement (RHC) are also called high early strength cement. The prime difference between the rapid hardening cement and ordinary Portland cement is the lime content. A large proportion of lime is the distinguishing feature of rapid hardening cement.

1st option along with 2nd option gives high strength at an early stage.

In Option D it is given tricalcium only. Not C3S.

Thus Option C is the correct answer.
