Soundness of cement is the property by virtue of which the cement does not undergo any appreciable expansion (or change in volume) after it has set. Therefore, the given answer is wrong.

The exact answer is option D. Exothermic reaction between cement and water is known as Heat of Hydration.

Option C is correct.

As by conducting sounds test (Le-chatleirs apparatus) we can find the changes in volume.

Exothermic reactions are those which release energy to the surrounding eg: combustion.

Soundness is due to volume expansion.

So, option C is not true.
