Explanation:

1) Modular Bricks:
Standard size of brick = 19 cm * 9 cm * 9 cm.
Nominal size of a brick with mortar = 20 cm * 10 cm * 10 cm.

2) Non-Modular Bricks:

Conventional size of brick = 22.4 cm * 11.4 cm * 7.6 cm.

The actual size of the standard modular brick as per Indian Standards is 19 cm * 9 cm * 9 cm.

Modular bricks are of nominal size 20*10*10 cm and 20% of the volume is lost in mortar between joints then what is the number of modular bricks required per cubic meter of brickwork?

According to BIS the size of a standard or actual bricks 19x9x9 cm and the normal or nominal or module bricks size is 20x10x10 cm module means with mortar module size always greater than standard size.
