All properties of soil depends on the stress applied on its surface. When we apply high stress on its surface for example on sand, the soil particles just moves but not affected.

Low carbon steel(or)mild steel = 0.05% to 0.25%.
Medium carbon steel = 0.25% to 0.75%.
High carbon steel = 0.75% to 1.5%.
