What is mean by honeycomb?

Arvind said: (Nov 12, 2013)
I guess segregation and bleeding will also be a result of badly mixed cement concrete. Please clarify.

Hesham said: (Nov 30, 2013)
I think segregation a result of badly mixed cement concrete. Please clarify.

Jaydeb said: (Dec 6, 2013)
I think segregation is the right one, please clarify.

Rama said: (Jan 29, 2014)
I have a doubt about this answer. If anyone knows the answer please explain it.

Kaleemjan said: (Jan 30, 2014)
Yeah I think bleeding segregation and honeycomb all due to bad mixing.

Farhan said: (Feb 22, 2014)
Honeycombing is irregularly spaces.

Bogz said: (Mar 9, 2014)
Honeycomb is a form of void and hollow in a body of concrete object. And these will be happen if there were some congestion of rebar's and insufficient vibration during concrete casting.

Subinsekhar said: (Oct 17, 2014)
Honeycombing is due to insufficient compaction.

Segregation is the right answer.

Ankita said: (Nov 18, 2014)
Ya segregation is the right answer. Honey combing is occurs due to presence of voids in it.

Nishanth said: (Dec 20, 2014)
I also think honeycomb is due to insufficient compacting, bleeding is correct answer.

Dharmendra Choubisa said: (Dec 24, 2014)
Honeycomb is due to insufficient compaction and segregation is due to badly mixed concrete and bleeding is due to excess in water.

Trilok Malav said: (Jun 2, 2015)
Honey combing means that 1:4:10 & it is bed mixing of mix design.

Nitu said: (Sep 10, 2015)
Honey combing occurs also due to w/c ratio less than 0.35, bleeding due to excess water, so segregation is the correct one.

Srinivas said: (Oct 13, 2015)
Honey combing is nothing but the cement slurry between the form work or the course aggregate appear in concrete work.

Vikas Saini said: (Nov 24, 2015)
Badly mixed concrete means not uniformly mixed so result in honey combing. Segregation is due to the separation of ingredients rather it is well mixed. Segregation may be in the time of transportation and pouring.

Sajid Hussain said: (Dec 9, 2015)
Honeycomb is form of void and hollow in concrete object. And we can say irregularly space.

Sandeep said: (Dec 21, 2015)
I think honey comb is correct answer because there is not confirm that segregation and bleeding condition.

Tapas Das said: (Feb 27, 2016)
I think segregation & bleeding is the right answer.

Nil said: (Mar 13, 2016)
Honeycombing occurs due to less compaction.

Pal said: (Mar 23, 2016)
Honeycombing is the term used to describe areas of the surface that are coarse and stony. It may be caused by insufficient fine material in the mix, perhaps due to incorrect aggregate grading or poor mixing.

Bamdev said: (Apr 12, 2016)
Difference between segregation and bleeding?

Santosh said: (May 15, 2016)
Segregation is the correct answer.

Afzal said: (Aug 2, 2016)
Segregation is due badly mixing of concrete. Bleeding is over compaction of concrete via vibrator etc and honey combing is a result of Lean mixing of concrete of improper compaction while pouring the to congestion inside the concrete body.

Segregation is the right answer.

Prajwal Deshmukh said: (Aug 20, 2016)
Honey combing is the correct answer.

This is caused when the gravel, cement and water are not properly mixed together. When the water content is too little, and the concrete is poured into the structure, the mixture will not settle properly causing the water to drain from the top and settle on the bottom. This would result in the small holes appearing on the surface.

Vinoth said: (Nov 12, 2016)
Honey combing is caused by improper consolidation the right answer is segregation.

Zeeshan said: (Nov 22, 2016)
Segregation is caused by over mixing or by falling concrete from an unsuitable height.

So, honey combing is the right answer.

Md Salahuddin said: (Nov 29, 2016)
I agree that honey combing is the right answer.

Amit said: (Dec 11, 2016)
Hai, everyone. Please pay attention.

Segregation main cause when less binding material use and poorly graded coarse aggregates are use and water use in more quantity results separation of coarse particles.

Bleeding due to excess water and due to improper mixing. Concrete leads to honeycomb as. Pores are left. In concrete improper vibration. All leads to honeycombing.

Don't confuse. Thankyou.

Berhe said: (Feb 14, 2017)
You are Right @Amit.

Md Muzammil said: (Feb 27, 2017)
I think segregation is right answer.

Roshan Singh said: (Mar 21, 2017)
I think all the given options are right.

Can anyone agree with me?

Raj said: (Mar 27, 2017)
I think option D is right because honeycombing Is occurs due to less compaction, bleeding occurs due to excess of water and segregation is occurs due to all mixture should not mix properly but this question is wrong because of badly mixed means many types.

Vinod said: (Apr 16, 2017)
Option A is correct answer.

Bhagyashree said: (Apr 18, 2017)
I think seggregation is the correct answer.

Sidharth said: (May 31, 2017)
Honey combs due to bad compacting not mixing.

Rahul Chaudhari said: (Jun 1, 2017)
Honeycombing is due to bad compaction. Not from the bad mixing of concrete. I think segregation is the right answer.

Nitin Gavit said: (Jun 3, 2017)
Segregated mix gives concrete that is patchy and badly mixed.

Nitin said: (Jun 3, 2017)
Segregation is the right answer.

Krishnendra said: (Jun 23, 2017)
I guess segregation, hony combing and bleeding will also be a result of badly mixed cement concrete.

Rini Sharma said: (Jun 25, 2017)
When concrete is poured into the foundation forms it does not just flow in like water and fill up the forms to the top. If it is not vibrated properly it may leave voids called honeycombing.

Sangam said: (Jul 10, 2017)
I think segregation is the right one because it occurs due to wrong mixing and in much water ratio also.

Sunil Kumar Malav said: (Jul 13, 2017)
I think it's the right answer because segregation and bleeding are a property of concrete after placing.

Question asking about mixing time so honey bombing is right.

Ramani said: (Jul 13, 2017)
Segregation occurs when less water cement ratios due to dry of concrete, bleeding occurs when high or excess W/C but honeycombing occurs only a bad mixing process happened so honeycombing is the correct answer.

Nishant said: (Jul 23, 2017)
In concrete, there are two types of segregation.

1. Course aggregates are separated from the concrete.
2. Groute (cement+paste) is separated from the concrete.

Honeycombing is the right answer.

Jibin Tm said: (Aug 19, 2017)
Honey combing is caused by insufficient fine material in the mix, perhaps due to incorrect aggregate grading or poor mixing. This can be corrected by increasing the sand and cement content of the mix and by proper mixing, placing and compaction.

Pratik10293 said: (Oct 10, 2017)
Honeycombing is also happen when it is not properly compacted. But I think all d options are right.

Nikhil Barde said: (Jan 12, 2018)
In my opinion, badly mixed cement concrete result is honeycomb, segregation, and bleeding.

Vinay said: (Jan 18, 2018)
Segregation is the right answer.

Santanu Acharya said: (Jan 18, 2018)
I think all of these are correct.

Suresh Kumar Yadav said: (Feb 18, 2018)
Honey combing is right answer. I agree.

Aswin said: (Mar 29, 2018)
Honey combing is the correct one.

Nil said: (Mar 31, 2018)
I think honey combing is due to improper compaction of concrete.

Neeraj said: (Apr 1, 2018)
Honeycombing is the term used to describe areas of the surface that are coarse and stony. It may be caused by insufficient fine material in the mix, perhaps due to incorrect aggregate grading or poor mixing. This can be corrected by increasing the sand and cement content of the mix and by proper mixing, placing and compaction. Alternatively, honeycombing may be caused by leakage of grout or mortar fraction from the concrete at construction or formwork joints.

Annii said: (Jul 4, 2018)
Segregation is the correct answer.

Hameed Abdul Majeed said: (Aug 15, 2018)
As a result of segregation, bleeding and all honey combing is the result, due to all above honey combing is the resulting product so.

Honey combing is the correct answer.

Digambar Nagpure said: (Aug 16, 2018)
Honeycomb, blooding and segregation are the effect of badly mix concrete.

Anand Tiwari said: (Aug 18, 2018)
Segregation is one of the effects of badly mixed concrete. Honey combing occurred due to inadequate compaction. Bleeding is the result over compaction of concrete.

Deepika said: (Sep 20, 2018)
According to me options a b& c, all these happen.

- segregation means separation of coarse &fine aggregate.
- bleeding means separation of excess water from concrete.
- honeycombing means the formation of voids appears in form of a honeycomb.

All these phenomena happen because of bad mixing.

Imtiaz said: (Dec 29, 2018)
Yeah, All three options are due to badly mixed concrete.

Hamid said: (Jan 6, 2019)
The right answer is segregation. Honeycombing may be either due to bad compaction or segregation. But segregation is due to bad mixing.

Suravi said: (Mar 12, 2019)
Segregation causes due to non-uniform mixing.

Bleeding is due to excess water.

If it is not vibrated properly.

So badly mixed is nothing but nonuniform mixing, Therefore Segregation is directly attributed to a bad mix.

Therefore, the answer is Segregation.

Navi said: (Jul 29, 2019)
Honey bomb is the correct one.

Chiranjeevi said: (Aug 1, 2019)
The needle vibrator is not perfectly compacted then concrete occurs in honeycombing. So basically bleeding and segregation is occurring in not properly mixing of concrete.

Davara said: (Aug 27, 2019)
Honeycombing is the term used to describe areas of the surface that are coarse and stony. It may be caused by insufficient fine material in the mix, perhaps due to incorrect aggregate grading or poor mixing.

Shashwat Singh said: (Nov 21, 2019)
Honeycombing occurs due to poor compaction, bleeding occurs due to high water ratio and segregation occurs due to bad mixing of concrete. So the answer is segregation is right.

Bhanu said: (Feb 26, 2020)
Honeycomb when badly mixing or compacting of cement concrete.

Pankaj Bajare said: (May 19, 2020)
Honeycomb is the right answer because badly mixed concrete does not bind properly.

Sondipon said: (Sep 10, 2020)
It should be Segregation.

Kaaleen Bhaiya said: (Nov 22, 2020)
