It's like when you measure the pile waist at one point and then one meter below so the difference should not be more than 2cm.

So, the taper is the decreasing size of the pile towards the base and it should not be more than 2 cm per meter.

It is a rectangle shape with having height whose top end has bigger dimension and lower end has smaller dimension. Example: if we cut the top or crown horizontally of a pyramid then it convert a tapered section.
