Here, depth for exploration of each story means floor to floor height of a building therefore as we know floor to floor height Of building is 3m.

The depth of exploration is to investigate soil site before starting any construction by Bore holes etc a taking sample.

It Depends on WT condition, soil characteristics, Types of footing.
Depth normally taken for exploration should be 1.5 to 2 times the Width!.
For strip footing, it is taken as 3 times the Width of footing!.

It's A. We take depth = 1m per floor.

Generally, we provide 1.5m depth of foundation.
