2.
In a shower, 5 cm of rain falls. The volume of water that falls on 1.5 hectares of ground is:
75 cu. m
750 cu. m
7500 cu. m
75000 cu. m
Answer: Option
Explanation:

1 hectare = 10,000 m2

So, Area = (1.5 x 10000) m2 = 15000 m2.

Depth = 5 m = 1 m.
100 20

Volume = (Area x Depth) = 15000 x 1 m3 = 750 m3.

Please can you tell me. What is meant by xcm of rainfall and how you calculated depth?

How to calculate depth.

Here I didn't understand the method.

What is the shape of rainfall?

What formulae is used to calculate the surface area.

How can we measure the rainfall?

Divya said:   1 decade ago
After the rain falls on the ground, its height is measured. That is how the rainfal is generally measured.

now, coming to the problem, here, the height is 5cm = 5/100m.

volume=lbh

but area=lb

volume=area*h

hence, volume= 15000*5/100 =750
