Correct read the question carefully, they're asking the redundant statement and not the required statements.

According to me either (I) or (III) is redundant as both involve 2 variables. (II) involves just one variable and can be used to get the second variable in (I) or (III).

However there is no such option of (I) or (III) could you please correct this in the question?

Please feel free to reply here if any of this does not make sense or if you find me to be wrong. I'd like to learn.

Read question carefully. "Whether any information provided in the statement (s) is 'redundant' and can be 'dispensed' with while answering the given question".

i.e. When we find answer using I and II; III is of no use means III is redundant i.e. we can dispense it.

Similarly, there are two more cases in which we can dispense I and II also I. We can dispense I or II or III.

Guys, take a look at the main question, we just have to find what option is not required to solve the questions given below.

"Each of these questions is followed by three statements. You have to study the question and all the three statements given to decide whether any information provided in the statement (s) is redundant and can be dispensed with while answering the given question".

So here any 2 options are enough to answer the question hence option A or B or C is redundant.

If you read the Direction it says You have to study the question and all the "three statements" given to decide whether any information provided in the statement (s) "is redundant and can be dispensed" with while answering the given question.

That means, the examiner wants us to check whether the statements given are redundant.

In the given question, we need to identify 3 variables and with the help of statements we can only solve 2 variables. So every statement is redundant. Hence Option D is correct. Trust the matter is understood.
