An aeroplane covers a certain distance at a speed of 240 kmph in 5 hours. To cover the same distance in 1
hours, it must travel at a speed of:
hours, it must travel at a speed of:Answer: Option
Explanation:
Distance = (240 x 5) = 1200 km.
Speed = Distance/Time
Speed = 1200/(5/3) km/hr. [We can write 1
hours as 5/3 hours]

I think the question should be in 1 hour 40 minutes not in 1 hour.

240 km hour in 5 hours so 240 * 5 = 1200 km total distance.
Distance = 1 + 2/5 = 3/5.
= 1200/1 * 3/5.
= 1200 * 3 = 3600, = 1 * 5 = 5 .
= 3600/5 = 720.
So, the answer is 720 km.
Distance = 1 + 2/5 = 3/5.
= 1200/1 * 3/5.
= 1200 * 3 = 3600, = 1 * 5 = 5 .
= 3600/5 = 720.
So, the answer is 720 km.

Why we convert 5/3 into 3/5?
Please tell me.

Previous time is 5 * 60 = 300 minute and new time is 60 + 40 = 100 minute.
So, we need to increase speed 3 times as our required time is reduced 3 times.
So the speed will be 240 * 3 = 720 kmph.

So the speed will be 240 * 3 = 720 kmph.

A/Q as the distance is same.
So, d1 = d2.
We know that D = S/T.
So, S1 * T1 = S2 * T2 ----> (1).
Already, we have the value of s1= 240, t1 = 5, s2 = ?, t2 = 5/3.
So, according to the equation 1, we get S2 = 720.

2 + 3 = 5*1 = 5.
It is in fraction that is why should write need write in fraction form so 5/3.

Distance = 240, 5 hour.
To cover same distance = x, 5/3 hour.
1 hour = 60 minutes, 5 hour = 300 minutes, 5/3 hour = 100 minutes.
= (5/3*60 minutes = 100 minutes).
= 240*300 = x*100.
72000 = x*100.
x = 72000/100.
x = 720.
So speed is 720 kmph.
To cover same distance = x, 5/3 hour.
1 hour = 60 minutes, 5 hour = 300 minutes, 5/3 hour = 100 minutes.
= (5/3*60 minutes = 100 minutes).
= 240*300 = x*100.
72000 = x*100.
x = 72000/100.
x = 720.
So speed is 720 kmph.
