Let us take price of the car is Rs. 8.
It can share 8 people by 8/8rp each i.e 1 rupee.
But 1 person is withdrawn so now it can shares 7 people by 8/7 rupees.
So the increment is 1-8/7 = 1/7.

Let, the total amount be Rs. 8.
for 8 persons per head=Rs.1 which is(1/8),
for 7 persons per head =Rs.1.1 which is(1/7),
so the increment is 1.1-1=0.1 which is1/7-1/8=1/56,
let's check the increment,
(1/56) of Rs.8=0.1.

Let take the cost of the car as 8 unit. All have to pay 1 unit each. When one person withdraws then his 1 unit will be paid combined by those 7 peoples.
So each have to pay 1/7 unit extra. So this is the increment.

After one person opted share per person become = 1/7.
Now, per head share increase=(1/7-1/8) =1/56. This is the information wanted.

Answer is 1/7 when it's is said that "increased to" as 1/56 + 1/8 =1/7.
But according to the question, "increased by" so answer will be 1/8 as (1/7-1/56).
Correct me, if I am wrong.

In this question, they asked for how much each person's cost is increased by and not the ratio of the increase.
So according to the question, the correct answer should be 1/56.

It is asking "the share of each of the remaining persons increased by" which is the difference between new and old ration which is 1/56 this should be the answer.
