Reena took a loan of Rs. 1200 with simple interest for as many years as the rate of interest. If she paid Rs. 432 as interest at the end of the loan period, what was the rate of interest?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let rate = R% and time = R years.
| Then, | ![]() |
1200 x R x R | ![]() |
= 432 |
| 100 |
12R2 = 432
R2 = 36
R = 6.

Hai friends
Actually reena took sum of Rs.1200 ie P=1200 and paid simple interest of Rs.432
We are asked to find the rate ie R
It is given that, simple interest for as many years as the rate of interest. this line mean that T=R.
Or
you can asuume R & T to some other variable also ie R=T=x
formulato be used is SI=PRT/100
432=1200*R*R/100 (Here i have used T=R)
43200=1200 R square
Rsquare=43200/1200
Rsquare=36
R=6
Hope understand... Goood night

I don't understand how we will we take T=R & what is mean of as many year as the rate of interest give actual mean of this sentence.

My Answer is 3.6%.
1200*3. 6% = 43.2
Ok now many years means 10 years
So 43.2 * 10 years = 432
Please tell me this is right or wrong, if wrong why?
1200*3. 6% = 43.2
Ok now many years means 10 years
So 43.2 * 10 years = 432
Please tell me this is right or wrong, if wrong why?

Because rate is equal to year they given in question itself.
so we took t=r we can also write like r=t=r all are same in this question.

Can anyone solve this, by using the following formula,
S.I=P*N*R/100,
where, S.I=Simple Interest,
P=Principal Amount.
N= Period of time.
and, R= Rate of Interest.
S.I=P*N*R/100,
where, S.I=Simple Interest,
P=Principal Amount.
N= Period of time.
and, R= Rate of Interest.

Friend, There you can use,
t = r = x.
Then r=t or x,
t = r or x.
Thus, r^2 or t^2 or x^2. Hope now you understand.
t = r = x.
Then r=t or x,
t = r or x.
Thus, r^2 or t^2 or x^2. Hope now you understand.

Assume 6 as time and rate of interest.
Then 6% of 1200 is 72.
For six years means (72*6) = 432.
Hence our assumption is correct and 6 is the answer.
Then 6% of 1200 is 72.
For six years means (72*6) = 432.
Hence our assumption is correct and 6 is the answer.

Here in question they have mentioned that "interest is as many years of time of end period" so we have to take R = T.

Why do we have a 100?

R = (S.I*100/P*T).
S.I = 432;
P = 1200;
T = R;
R = 432*100/1200*R.
R2 = 36.
R = 6.
S.I = 432;
P = 1200;
T = R;
R = 432*100/1200*R.
R2 = 36.
R = 6.
