In a mixture 60 litres, the ratio of milk and water 2 : 1. If this ratio is to be 1 : 2, then the quantity of water to be further added is:
20 litres
30 litres
40 litres
60 litres
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Quantity of milk = 60 x 2 litres = 40 litres.
3

Quantity of water in it = (60- 40) litres = 20 litres.

New ratio = 1 : 2

Let quantity of water to be added further be x litres.

Then, milk : water = 40 .
20 + x

Now, 40 = 1
20 + x 2

20 + x = 80

x = 60.

Quantity of water to be added = 60 litres.

Here 2:1 and then 1:2 at first find the difference 2-1 = 1 and 1-2 is also 1 deference,
So, we say 1 unit = 60L.
The question is whether water should be added further?
Hence, the water ratio is 1, so the answer is 1*60 = 60.

Total is 60, and the current ratio is 2:1, which means milk is twice the amount of water is 40 + 20 = 60,
new 1:2 means water is double of milk, then milk was 40 L.
So double of 40 is 80, and we have 20 L of water.
And 20 + 60 = 80 So, we added 60 L more water.
And the answer is 60L.
