A sum of money is to be distributed among A, B, C, D in the proportion of 5 : 2 : 4 : 3. If C gets Rs. 1000 more than D, what is B's share?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the shares of A, B, C and D be Rs. 5x, Rs. 2x, Rs. 4x and Rs. 3x respectively.
Then, 4x - 3x = 1000
x = 1000.
B's share = Rs. 2x = Rs. (2 x 1000) = Rs. 2000.

According to the question:
C+1000 = D so we can write this:
4x/14+1000 = 3x/14.
After this equation we gets x = 14000.
For B: 2/14 *12000. And we get an answer B=2000.

There are 4no.
A, B, C, D=5x, 2x, 4x, 3x (respectivly).
The Question says c get Rs 1000 more than D which means.
We have C as 4x. And D as 3x so.
4x=3x+1000. Ok (ques says).
Then 4x-3x=1000.
Therefore x=1000.
We have to find of B. Then B has 2x=>2*1000=2000 (x=1000).
So, the answer is 2000.

It can also be solved in this way;
Suppose the total amount is x.
Total of the ratios is 14.
C's share:
4/14 x = 3/14x + 1000( c get 1000 more of d, d share is 3/14 x).
4/14 x - 3/14 x = 1000.
(1/14)x = 1000.
x = 14000.
B's share:
= 2/14 * 14000.
= 2000.
Suppose the total amount is x.
Total of the ratios is 14.
C's share:
4/14 x = 3/14x + 1000( c get 1000 more of d, d share is 3/14 x).
4/14 x - 3/14 x = 1000.
(1/14)x = 1000.
x = 14000.
B's share:
= 2/14 * 14000.
= 2000.
