But I still don't understand why we first calculate the ratio, final answer depend on the formula.

A=4/5, B=2/5.

Total amount=1210.
Therefore the total amount of B=1210*2/5=484.

So, Ans is 484.

Listen @Yogesh.

Take A=3x and B=2x.
5x= 1210 => x= 242.
Then B= 2 * 242= 484 Ans.

Through ratio share can be divided accordingly as A:B=3:2 B' SHARE will be 2/5*1210=484.

Why should we have to find a : b?

Here we can directly multiply the 2/5*1210. Right?
