In a bag, there are coins of 25 p, 10 p and 5 p in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 3. If there is Rs. 30 in all, how many 5 p coins are there?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the number of 25 p, 10 p and 5 p coins be x, 2x, 3x respectively.
Then, sum of their values = Rs. | ![]() |
25x | + | 10 x 2x | + | 5 x 3x | ![]() |
= Rs. | 60x |
100 | 100 | 100 | 100 |
![]() |
60x | = 30 | ![]() |
30 x 100 | = 50. |
100 | 60 |
Hence, the number of 5 p coins = (3 x 50) = 150.

We can simply write;
1/4x + 1/10 * 2x + 1/20 * 3x = 30
Then after multiplying and taking LCM.
5x + 4x + 3x = 30 * 20,
x = 600/12,
x = 50.
So, No. of 5p coins = 3x = 3*50 = 150.
1/4x + 1/10 * 2x + 1/20 * 3x = 30
Then after multiplying and taking LCM.
5x + 4x + 3x = 30 * 20,
x = 600/12,
x = 50.
So, No. of 5p coins = 3x = 3*50 = 150.

25p : 10p : 5p = 1 : 2 : 3 = Rs.30.
1rs = 4 * 25p (or) 25p = 1/4.
Similarly, 10p = 1/10 and 5p = 1/20.
x/4 + 2x/10 + 3x/20 = 30.
x = 50
Answer:
25p = 50.
10p = 100.
5p = 150.
1rs = 4 * 25p (or) 25p = 1/4.
Similarly, 10p = 1/10 and 5p = 1/20.
x/4 + 2x/10 + 3x/20 = 30.
x = 50
Answer:
25p = 50.
10p = 100.
5p = 150.

I think it's simple because see the question what they ask how many 5p coins?
i.e 25p, 10p, 5p the ratio 1:2:3 the cost is 30rps so we can easily solve this. 5*30 =150.

Friends it can be solved from options as:
We have to find out the number 5p coins,
So,
200/5 = 40
100/5 = 20
50/5 = 10
150/5 = 30
Therefore the answer is 150.

So,
200/5 = 40
100/5 = 20
50/5 = 10
150/5 = 30
Therefore the answer is 150.

1 Rupee = 100 paise
30Rs = 3000 paise.
25p : 10p : 5p = 1 : 2 : 3,
25*X + 10*2X + 5*3X = 3000,
60X = 3000,
X = 50,
25*50 = 1250,
10*2*50 = 1000,
5*3*50 = 750.
30Rs = 3000 paise.
25p : 10p : 5p = 1 : 2 : 3,
25*X + 10*2X + 5*3X = 3000,
60X = 3000,
X = 50,
25*50 = 1250,
10*2*50 = 1000,
5*3*50 = 750.

How did you got 3/6*300 p =150,
It should be 3/6*3000p =150,
Here you multiplied 30 * 10 p which is wrong.
Shouldn't we multiply 30*1000?
