15.
In a bag, there are coins of 25 p, 10 p and 5 p in the ratio of 1 : 2 : 3. If there is Rs. 30 in all, how many 5 p coins are there?
50
100
150
200
Answer: Option
Explanation:

Let the number of 25 p, 10 p and 5 p coins be x, 2x, 3x respectively.

Then, sum of their values = Rs. 25x + 10 x 2x + 5 x 3x = Rs. 60x
100 100 100 100

60x = 30     x = 30 x 100 = 50.
100 60

Hence, the number of 5 p coins = (3 x 50) = 150.

30 rupees = 300 paise.

Now,
Rupee ratio = sum of ratios.

5p/Rupee = ratio of 5p/rupee ratio.

Rupee ratio is 6 since 1+2+3=6.

(Number of 5p)5p/300(total number of rupee) = 3/6(total ratio).

5p = 300*3/6 = 150.

I need an explanation for this oners 107.25 is made up of rupee, 50 paise and 25 paise coins and the number of coins are in the proportion 5, 6, 7 then the number of copies is?

@depanshu shortcut is correct and it is the shortest method

Totally we have Rs.30 = 3000p.

25p,10p, 5p are in ratio of 1:2:3 (given).

We can also write it as
No. of coins of 25p = x
No. of coins of 10p = 2x
No. of coins of 5p = 3x

Then,
25(x)+10(2x)+5(3x)= 3000
We will find x = 50.

No. of coins of 5p = 3*50 = 150.

The main thing here is to convert the given data I to one standard. I mean its given as paisa so entire problem should be converted to paisa.

Seventy two coins consist of one rupee coins, 50 paise coins and 25 paise coins, their values being in the ratio 10:15:8. Find the number of 50 paise coins.

Any one can help on this to solve?

Its Simple
Totally we have Rs.30 = 3000p
25p,10p, 5p are in ratio of 1:2:3 (given)
We can also write it as
No. of coins of 25p = x
No. of coins of 10p = 2x
No. of coins of 5p = 3x
then,
25(x)+10(2x)+5(3x)= 3000
we will find x = 50
No. of coins of 5p = 3*50 = 150
