0.75 : x :: 5 : 8.

0.75/x = 5/8.
5x = 0.75 * 8,
X = 0.75 * 8/5,
X = 1.20.

The product of means equals to product of extremes,

5 * x = 0.75 * 8,
5x = 6,
x=6/5,
x=1.2.

The answer is 1.20.

We have to do cross multiply here

When we see :: in between,
a:b :: c:d.

Formula is a*d=b*c .so, by given values we can find x, here they gave a, c, d values
we need to find b, according to formula.

0.75*8=5*x.
x=6/5 which is 1.2.

@Janu hope you got it.

Why do we do x x 5 and 0.75 x 8?

Why isn't it 0.75 x 5 and x x 8?
