(product of means) = (product of extremes).
So, over problem 0.75:x::5:8.
Becomes, x*5 = 0.75*8.
5x = 6.
X = 6/5.

We all are many minded so if you think in that way. You can understand easily and fastly.
0.75 means 50p+25p. Here 8 50p means Rs.4 and 8 25p means Rs.2
Now Rs.4+Rs.2 = Rs.6

In the same way 60 percent of 0.75 = 0.45.
Then 0.75 + 0.45 = 1.20.
