Here, In the problem given that 0.75:x::5:8,
So, it means 0.75:x=5:8.
Here, 0.75and 8 are called extremes and at the same time, x and5are called means.
For example, a:b::c:d.
Then the product of extremes(a*d)=the product of mean(b*c).
So that's why it came,
0.75*8=5x,
6=5x=6/5,
Therefore, x = 1.2(ans).
So, it means 0.75:x=5:8.

When we see :: in between,
a:b :: c:d.
Formula is a*d=b*c .so, by given values we can find x, here they gave a, c, d values
we need to find b, according to formula.
0.75*8=5*x.

We all are many minded so if you think in that way. You can understand easily and fastly.
0.75 means 50p+25p. Here 8 50p means Rs.4 and 8 25p means Rs.2
Now Rs.4+Rs.2 = Rs.6

In the same way 60 percent of 0.75 = 0.45.
Then 0.75 + 0.45 = 1.20.
