Length of platform = 640m
and entire train length = 240m
the Q. is we have to find time taken by train to pass entire platform.
so we include train length utill its last coach passing the platform.
time considered up to its last coach left the platform.
ok.

Here starting position (source) is train length and ending position is platform length (destination) ok.

Here train passing both the pole as well as the plate form ....
in question they clearly mentioned pole passing time in seconds only......
so we have to solve first 240/24 =10sec..
and than
(240+650/10)=890/10=89 sec.......

In order to determine the speed the distance of the train can we ignore the distance between the train and the pole.
