Distance= speed * time,
240/ 24=time,
Time = 10s,
Distance= speed* time.
240+ 650 combing distance = 890,
890/10= time,
89 m/s.
240/ 24=time,
Time = 10s,
Distance= speed* time.
240+ 650 combing distance = 890,
890/10= time,
89 m/s.

Train Length 240m long.
Time to pass pole = 24 second.
Speed= 240/24=10 m/s.
For length 650 m = 240+650=890m.
Speed = 890/10=89.
Time to pass pole = 24 second.
Speed= 240/24=10 m/s.
For length 650 m = 240+650=890m.
Speed = 890/10=89.

Hello guys.
W.k.t, speed = dist/time.
So on comparing,
Dist/time = dist/time.
240/24 = (240+650)/t.
t = (890/24)/240.
t = 89 sec.
W.k.t, speed = dist/time.
So on comparing,
Dist/time = dist/time.
240/24 = (240+650)/t.
t = (890/24)/240.
t = 89 sec.

I think the length of a platform is greater than the length of the trian so to pass the platform we should be adding each lengths.

There is no need to add both lengths.
The question is only for the platform. So why do we add both?
Please anyone explain to me?

I believe the right answer is 65 Sec.
Because train speed is 10m/Sec and to cross 650-meter bridge it took 65 sec to pass that.

If the train cross the platform i.e it crosses own length.
(own length 240 + Platform 650) = / 24 time = 89 sec its correct.
(own length 240 + Platform 650) = / 24 time = 89 sec its correct.

The question asked is only How long will it take to pass a platform 650 m long. Why we should add 250? Can any one explain?

I think there's no need to add 240. They have only asked what's the time to cross platform. Thus the answer must me 65secs.

WHY NOT 65?
We got train speed =10.
Then we can directly find the time right?
i.e time = 65 because t=d/s=>650/10 = 65.
