The G.C.D. of 1.08, 0.36 and 0.9 is:
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Given numbers are 1.08, 0.36 and 0.90. H.C.F. of 108, 36 and 90 is 18,

1.08 = 108/100 = (3*3*3*2*2)/100.
0.36 = 36/100 = (3*3*2*2.)/100.
0.90 = 90/100 = (3*3*5*2.)/100 because(0.9=0.90=0.900 bz 90/100=9/10 zero cancel out).
Now hcf = (3*3*2)/100 = 18/100 = 0.18.
0.36 = 36/100 = (3*3*2*2.)/100.
0.90 = 90/100 = (3*3*5*2.)/100 because(0.9=0.90=0.900 bz 90/100=9/10 zero cancel out).
Now hcf = (3*3*2)/100 = 18/100 = 0.18.

1.08= 27/25, 0.36= 9/25 and 0.9= 9/10.
Now,
The formula of hcf of fraction num is:
HCF of numerator / lcm of denominator,
=> hcf of 27,9,9 is 9 and lcm of 25,25,10 is 50,
=> 9/50 = 0.18.
Now,
The formula of hcf of fraction num is:
HCF of numerator / lcm of denominator,
=> hcf of 27,9,9 is 9 and lcm of 25,25,10 is 50,
=> 9/50 = 0.18.

Thanks @Sreeraj for:
3|108, 36, 90
|_____________
3| 36, 12, 30
|_____________
2| 12, 4, 10
|_____________
6, 2, 5
So the H.C.F is 3*3*2 = 18
[need to brush up school's maths book] :P ;)

Convert them into fractions:
i.e:108/100,36/100,90/100.
HCF of fractions: HCF of numerator/LCM of denominator;
HCF(108,36,90)/LCM(100,100,100),
= 18/100,
= 0.18.
Hope this is helpful.

Let's do this the easy way.
1.08 = 108/100 = 27/25,
0.36 = 9/25,
0.9 = 9/10.
Gcd of Fraction = Gcd of Num/LCM of Denominator.
gcd of 27,9,9 = 9,
lcm of 25,25,10 = 50.
9/50 = 0.18.
1.08 = 108/100 = 27/25,
0.36 = 9/25,
0.9 = 9/10.
Gcd of Fraction = Gcd of Num/LCM of Denominator.
gcd of 27,9,9 = 9,
lcm of 25,25,10 = 50.
9/50 = 0.18.

if you convert 0.9 as 9/10 then 0.18 is not the answer and if you convert 0.9 as 9/100 then you get 18 as 0.18.
And between both numbers greater is 0.9 as you are finding the gcd.
And between both numbers greater is 0.9 as you are finding the gcd.

Greatest common divisor has to be smaller than the numbers which are divided by G.C.D. And it has to be greatest, hasn't it?
So here 0.18 is greater than 0.09. So answer is 0.18.
So here 0.18 is greater than 0.09. So answer is 0.18.

Yes, we can write 0.9 as 0.90.
Because if we see other given values than after decimal there are two degrees.
Just for making terms we can write 0.9 as 0.90.

Mehar, can u explain why did u subtract them before calculating HCF?
and the result was not HCF it was LCM.
can u clearly show how LCM vary from HCF?

I didn't understand this question?
Find the lcm of 3, 2. 7, 0.09? I need a full explanation of the solution. Can anyone explain me?
