Hi Prathyusha,
to be very clear and simple....
the number's are 1.08 , 0.36 and 0.9
Also the numbers can be written as 1.08*100/100=108/100 , 0.36*100/100= 36/100 and 0.90*100/100 =90/100
So the number's are 108/100,36/100 and 90/100
Now , GCD of
108= 2*2*3*3*3
36= 2*2*3*3
90= 3*3*5*2
So the HCF for these three numbers are 2*3*3= 18
now the hcf of
100= 2*2*5*5
100= 2*2*5*5
100= 2*2*5*5
so HCF these numbers are 100
so 18/100= 0.18... thats it :)

From the given question,
We can take 1.08 = 108 (1.08*100)
0.36 = 36 (0.36*100)
0.9 = 90 (0.9*100), or making the calculation easier. :)
3|108, 36, 90
|_____________
3| 36, 12, 30
|_____________
2| 12, 4, 10
|_____________
6, 2, 5
So the H.C.F is 3*3*2 = 18
At last we have to divide the H.C.F by 100 (Because earlier we multiplied all the given number with 100)
So the final answer is 18/100 = 0.18
We can take 1.08 = 108 (1.08*100)
0.36 = 36 (0.36*100)
0.9 = 90 (0.9*100), or making the calculation easier. :)

At last we have to divide the H.C.F by 100 (Because earlier we multiplied all the given number with 100)
So the final answer is 18/100 = 0.18

Given number 1.08,0.36& 0.9.
To remove the decimal multiply with 100
Then the no are 108, 36, 90
Hcf of these no
108=2*2*3*3*3
36=3*3*2*2
90=3*3*2*5.
Here the 2 is repeated in all no so 2 and 3*3 is also repeated. So the HCF is 3*3*2=18
Here the question is in decimal form so the answer must be also in decimal.
To remove the decimal we multiple with 100 so for the perfect answer divide with 100.
So, the answer is 18÷100=0.18.

Here the answer given is 0.18.
1. Those who are saying why it is taken as 90/100 and not 9/10,the corresponding numbers are equal (multiply 10 on numerator and denominator).
2.0.18 can't be a factor of 0.9 because 0.9 is smaller than 0.18.so 0.18 can't divide 0.9.
for example 6 cannot divide 3 because 6 is a bigger number.
So, the correct answer would be 9/100 i.e 0.09.

Its Simple Guys.
1). Multiply each number with 100 so that we get whole number.
1.08*100 = 108.
0.36*100 = 36.
0.90*100 = 90.
2). Now Find prime factors of each one.
108 = 3*3*3*2*2.
36 = 3*3*2*2.
90 = 3*3*5*2.
3). Find HCF from each ie 3*3*2 = 18.
Divide 18 by 100 as initially we multiply to get answer in decimal format,
18/100 = 0.18.
Which is the actual answer.

The answer is 0.18 and not 0.09 because first, you're supposed to reduce the fractions to their simplest forms i.e., remove all the common factors between the numerator and denominator and then apply the formula. So,
1.08 = 108/100 = 27/25,
0.36 = 36/100 = 9/25,
0.9 = 9/10,
HCF (27, 9, 9) = 9 and,
LCM (25, 25, 10) = 50.
Therefore, the answer is 9/50 = 0.18.
1.08 = 108/100 = 27/25,
0.36 = 36/100 = 9/25,
0.9 = 9/10,
HCF (27, 9, 9) = 9 and,
LCM (25, 25, 10) = 50.
Therefore, the answer is 9/50 = 0.18.

@All.
Here we want to know if 0.9 is the HCF or 0.18 is.
I think both the numbers are found to be factors of 0.9, 1.08 and 0.36. But since we need the HCF (Highest common factor), the highest value among them should be 0.9 between 0.9 and 0.18.
Hence I think 0.9 is the highest common factor of 0.9, 1.08 and 0.36.
Correct me if wrong, please.

How could it be possible....
Given is 1.08 which is =108/100
then .36 = 36/100
the .9 = 9/10
now we hav to find the HCF of 108,36 and 9 which is 9
and LCM of 100,100,10....which is 100
so ans shud b 9/100=.09....
correct me is i am wrong...
MY doubt is why we have converted it in 90...??? plz explain
