Why not 0.03?

1.08-0.36=0.72.
0.90-0.36=0.54.
(0.72-0.54=0.18).

Yes, we can write 0.9 as 0.90.
Because if we see other given values than after decimal there are two degrees.
Just for making terms we can write 0.9 as 0.90.

Is it necessary to write .9 as 90/100 instead of 9/10 to get the right answer?

Given number 1.08,0.36& 0.9.

To remove the decimal multiply with 100
Then the no are 108, 36, 90
Hcf of these no
108=2*2*3*3*3
36=3*3*2*2
90=3*3*2*5.

Here the 2 is repeated in all no so 2 and 3*3 is also repeated. So the HCF is 3*3*2=18
Here the question is in decimal form so the answer must be also in decimal.
To remove the decimal we multiple with 100 so for the perfect answer divide with 100.
So, the answer is 18÷100=0.18.

Here the answer given is 0.18.

1. Those who are saying why it is taken as 90/100 and not 9/10,the corresponding numbers are equal (multiply 10 on numerator and denominator).

2.0.18 can't be a factor of 0.9 because 0.9 is smaller than 0.18.so 0.18 can't divide 0.9.
for example 6 cannot divide 3 because 6 is a bigger number.

So, the correct answer would be 9/100 i.e 0.09.
