At present, the ratio between the ages of Arun and Deepak is 4 : 3. After 6 years, Arun's age will be 26 years. What is the age of Deepak at present ?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Let the present ages of Arun and Deepak be 4x years and 3x years respectively. Then,
4x + 6 = 26
4x = 20
x = 5.
Deepak's age = 3x = 15 years.

Given that Arun and Deepak age are in the ratio 4x:3x.
Arun age after 6 years is 4x+6=26.
X=5.
3x=15.
Arun age after 6 years is 4x+6=26.
X=5.
3x=15.

Let arun age is x and deepak age is y.
According to question,
x/y= 4/3 -- (1)
x+6=26
x=20.
From(1)
y=(3/4)*x
Put x=20
y=(3/4)*20
y=15
So deepak age is 15 years.

NEW METHOD:
Arun and Deepak age is in the ratio 4:3.
After 6 years Aruns age is 26. So current age of Arun is 26-6 = 20.
4:3 = 20:Deepak.
4*Deepak = 20*3.
Deepak = 60/4 = 15.
Arun and Deepak age is in the ratio 4:3.
After 6 years Aruns age is 26. So current age of Arun is 26-6 = 20.
4:3 = 20:Deepak.
4*Deepak = 20*3.
Deepak = 60/4 = 15.

ARUN = 4X.
DEEPAK = 3X.
WE HAVE TO FIND DEEPAK'S AGE,
ie.3X = ?.
4X+6 = 26.
4X = 20-6.
4X = 20.
X = 20/5.
X = 5.
SO, 3X = 3*5 = 15.
DEEPAK = 3X.
WE HAVE TO FIND DEEPAK'S AGE,
ie.3X = ?.
4X+6 = 26.
4X = 20-6.
4X = 20.
X = 20/5.
X = 5.
SO, 3X = 3*5 = 15.

Let's consider Arun age = X;
And Deepak age = Y;
And the ratio of Arun and Deepak age = 4:3.
So, we have to take X/Y = 4/3;------------> equation 1.
Then, After 6 years, Arun age is 26;
So let's consider X+6 = 26 ==> X = 26-6 ==> X = 20------------->equation 2.
To solve on equation 1 =====> X/Y = 4/3 ==> 3X = 4Y.
Therefore 3X-4Y = 0------------>equation 3.
Let we know the x value of 20.
So we have to apply in equation 3.
= 3(20)-4Y = 0;
= 60-4Y = 0.
= -4Y = -60.
Y = 60/4.
Y = 15;
Deepak (Y) age is 15 years;
And Deepak age = Y;
And the ratio of Arun and Deepak age = 4:3.
So, we have to take X/Y = 4/3;------------> equation 1.
Then, After 6 years, Arun age is 26;
So let's consider X+6 = 26 ==> X = 26-6 ==> X = 20------------->equation 2.
To solve on equation 1 =====> X/Y = 4/3 ==> 3X = 4Y.
Therefore 3X-4Y = 0------------>equation 3.
Let we know the x value of 20.
So we have to apply in equation 3.
= 3(20)-4Y = 0;
= 60-4Y = 0.
= -4Y = -60.
Y = 60/4.
Y = 15;
Deepak (Y) age is 15 years;
