Total increase 6300 - 5500 = 830.
Males = 11%.
Females = 20 % = 11 % + 9%
11 % of 5500 = 605.
So,
9 % of females = 830 - 605.
= (225/9) * 100 = 2500.

Answer is wrong because take an example.
x = 10, y = 100 (x is less than y).
Then A = x% of y => 90.
B = y% of x => 10.
So, answer is 'D' not 'E'.

Hi,
A = x% of y & B = y% of x.
A/B = x/100*y/y/100*x.
A/B = xy/100/xy/100.
Or A/B = xy/100*100/xy.
On cancellation we get A/B = 1/1.
A = B.
A = x% of y & B = y% of x.
A/B = x/100*y/y/100*x.
A/B = xy/100/xy/100.
Or A/B = xy/100*100/xy.
On cancellation we get A/B = 1/1.

According to me,
Let's take A=2.
and B=3.
Then A%B=2%3= 2*3/100 = 6/100.
and B%A= 3%2= 3*2/100 = 6/100.
I answer is xy=xy not x=y.

and

Why not. U are confused, here is the short cut.
10%of 450 is 45 then
40%of 450 will be 45*4=180.
10%of 450 is 45 then
40%of 450 will be 45*4=180.

There is one simple concept.
X% of y = y% of x.
Consider,
40% of 100 = 100% of 40.
40 = 40.
X% of y = y% of x.
Consider,
40% of 100 = 100% of 40.
40 = 40.
