If A = x% of y and B = y% of x, then which of the following is true?
A is smaller than B.
A is greater than B
Relationship between A and B cannot be determined.
If x is smaller than y, then A is greater than B.

In such cases always assume some value for x and y.

Let x = 100 and y = 100. (Note-always assume value which is divisible by denominator).

Now A = x%y.

A = x/100*y, but we substitute the assumed value of x and y.

A = 100/100*100 (x = 100, y = 100 assumed value).

You will get:

A = 100.

Now move to next part.

B = y%x.

B = x/100*y, but we again substitute the assumed value of x and y.

B = 100/100*100 it will give you.

B = 100.

Now A = 100 and B = 100 therefore you can say that A = B.

Hello, guys as a beginner think very straight and you'll get the answer.
The way it is mentioned just write it and solve:

A= X% of Y.

Similarly ;
B = Y% of X.

According to the percentage formula;
AX/Y * 100.
BY/X * 100.
AX/Y = BY/X.

Just cancel X and Y according to simple multiplication rule. And only left it A = B.
And as it is not given in the option hence option E.

@Rashal.

Let total no of members are in club = x
40% are female = (40/100) * x.

Then new 40 male members are add in the club.
So, now total no of member are in club = x + 40.
Now the % of female members dropped to 30%
So no of females are = (30/100) * (x+40).
Now 40/100) * x = (30/100) * (x+40).
X = 120.

Then female members are = 40/100) * 120.
= 48 (ans).

Amar, Anoop, and Aparna shared a certain amount among themselves such that Amar gets 20% more than Anoop and Anoop get 20% more than Aparna. Aparna got Rs 176 less than Amar. How much amount did Anoop get?

Can anyone solve this?

In a club 40% of the members were female. 40 new male became a member of the club and as a result, the percent of female members dropped to 30%. How many females member are there in the club now?

Can anyone solve this?

I still don't understand why it is not Answer C.

If I know that A=B, then I can determine the relationship between them, they are the same.

Or don't I understand the statement C? (I'm not a native speaker).

Ashas Monthly Income = 60% of Deepak Income (78000).

Ashas Monthly Income = 78000*60/100 = 46800.

120% of Maya Income = Ashas Monthly Income (46800).

Maya Income = 46800/120%.

Maya Income = 39000.

@Deepesh.

Why it is not so because, if the given expression is not given then it is not possible to determine, but it is clearly given na that's why we can't say answer C.

It's Simple

Let's take x =10 & y=500.
So, A = x% of y & B = y% of x.
Just put the values:

A = (10%/100) * 500 = 50 &
B = (500%/100) * 10 = 50,
Hence A = B.
