A fruit seller sell 40% apples and the remaining apples are 420.
So, here 100% of apples he sell 40% apples then he had the remaining 60% of apples.( 100-40=60)
60% ----> 420
100%---->x
x = 420*100/60
x = 700
or;
60%----> 420
40%--->x.
x = 420*40/60,
x = 280 (280 apples sold)
Then total apples 280+420 = 700.
So, here 100% of apples he sell 40% apples then he had the remaining 60% of apples.( 100-40=60)
60% ----> 420
100%---->x
x = 420*100/60
x = 700
or;
60%----> 420
40%--->x.
x = 420*40/60,
x = 280 (280 apples sold)
Then total apples 280+420 = 700.

Let us assume
x=100.
Apples sailed by seller =40.
left apples =420,
Therefore,
100 - 40 = 60.
60%420 = 252.
252 + 420 = 672.
x=100.
Apples sailed by seller =40.
left apples =420,
Therefore,
100 - 40 = 60.
60%420 = 252.
252 + 420 = 672.

60% = 420,
100% = x,
Cross multiple:
x= 420 * 100/60,
= 700.
100% = x,
Cross multiple:
x= 420 * 100/60,
= 700.

It's very simple,
Suppose he had 'x' apples,
Here x = 420.
Then (100 - 40)% = 60%.
Now required solution,
60/100 *x= 420,
x = (420 *100/60) = 700.
HOPE THIS WILL HELP!

@All
Total apple = 100%
sold = 40%
Remaining = 60% = 420,
Now, calculate 1 % of 420 = 420/60 = 7.
40 * 7 = 280.
Then, the total apple he had = 480 + 280 = 700.
Total apple = 100%
sold = 40%
Remaining = 60% = 420,
Now, calculate 1 % of 420 = 420/60 = 7.
40 * 7 = 280.
Then, the total apple he had = 480 + 280 = 700.

Total Apples = 100%.
He sells 40% apples.
And remaining apples = 100% - 40% = 60%.
So still he has 420 apples(Remaining apples).
60% = 420,
40% = x,
60x = 420*40(here percentage will cancel).
x =280.
Total Apples = 420.
He sells 40% apples.
And remaining apples = 100% - 40% = 60%.
So still he has 420 apples(Remaining apples).
60% = 420,
40% = x,
60x = 420*40(here percentage will cancel).
x =280.
Total Apples = 420.
