1.
A batsman scored 110 runs which included 3 boundaries and 8 sixes. What percent of his total score did he make by running between the wickets?
Answer: Option
Explanation:
Number of runs made by running = 110 - (3 x 4 + 8 x 6)
= 110 - (60)
= 50.

800 is how much % of 7200?
800*%/100 = 7200.
By solving we get 800%.
And by using above method.
800/7200*100=11.11111111.
Which will be the correct method and what is the answer.
800*%/100 = 7200.
By solving we get 800%.
And by using above method.
800/7200*100=11.11111111.
Which will be the correct method and what is the answer.

3 boundaries means 3*4 = 12 runs.
8 sixes means 8*6 = 48 runs.
Totally we have 60 runs only with boundaries and sixes.
Now given runs are 110.
Hence total score did he make by running between the wickets is,
110-60 = 50 runs.
So the percentage is (50/110)*100= 45.454545....%.
We will write this like 45(5/11)%.

110 is the total score made by batsman. Which included 3*4 boundaries = 12, 8*6 boundaries = 48.
In question, they have asked the running score percentage of the batsman between wickets. Hence we need only running score, we have to subtract those boundary values from total running score.
So, 110-3*4+8*6 = 50.
Now, 50 is running score out of total running score by the batsman so, 50/110. The and should be in percentage.
So 50/110*100 = 45%.

Before we solve the problem, note these basic points.
1. Percentage is a method of expressing fractions or parts of any quantity into an equivalent form. The term per cent means for every hundred.
2. 100% means 100 hundredths or 100/100 = 1.50% means 50 hundredths or 50/100 = 1/2 or 0.5.
3. How many 40 Rs. are in 100 Rs? Yes, it is 40 Rs only. (Rs. 40 = 40 one rupees).
4. We can also form a question like, what percent is 40 rupees of 100 rupees. Answer. (40/100) *100 = 40.
Lets generalize here.
1. When we need to find x of y, we simply write as x/y.
2. When we need to find x% then, we simply write as x/100.
3. When we need to find x% of y, then x/y/100 therefore we can write it as (x/y)*100.
Now lets solve the problem.
1. The batman scored 110 runs. Out of which he scored by 3 boundaries (3*4=12 runs) , 8 sixes (8*6=48 runs).
2. In the question, they are asking the percentage of runs he scored by running. Simple, we will just minus the 60 runs (12+48) from 110.
3. Therefore, the runs he obtained by running is 50 (110-60).
4. To find what percent is 50 of 110 = (50/110) *100 = 500/11. This gives a final result 45*5/11. {Quotient* (remainder/division) = 45*5/11}.
